Hepekeria is a large island separated from Lythia by the Elanas, straits know for their treacherous tidal currents and shoals.
Hepekeria is largely desert and semi-desert, but has coastal grasslands and hardwood forests. The interior is dominated by nomadic tribesmen, the Numec. The civilised coastal lands are inhabited by a mixture of peoples, more laterly Azeri and Ivinians.

Hepekeria can be divided into a number of regions:
- the Interior - home of the Numec.
- Isynen - the only major settlement on the north coast of Hepekeria, which survives because it is a trading centre for the Numec.
- Dalanya - a mountainous northern region, with a loose confederation of minor states. Key settlement is Vitho.
- Korlua - an Ivinian kingdom on islands off northern Hepekeria. Capital is Hegovnis
- Menema - another Ivinian colony off the north coast of Hepekeria proper.
- Falana - southern coastal region. Its key settlements are Thubeliz and Silgora.
