Eriador is a large region in the far northwest of the continent of Endor. It is bounded to the west by the Ered Luin and the Belegaer Ocean; to the east by the Misty Mountains and to the north by Northen Wastes.
Many peoples have called Eriador home over the history of Middle-earth. At end of the Second Age the Numenorian Realm in Exile of Arnor covered most of Eriador. Its successor states of Arthedain, Cardolan and Rhudaur dominated the region until TA 1975, after which time the region lacked formal states.
At the beginning of the Fourth Age, Eriador was once again part of the Reunited Kindom of Arnor and Gondor.
