Cardolan was a successor-realm to Arnor, the North Kingdom of the Dunedain. Founded in the year 861 of the Third Age, Cardolan was the southwestern-most of the three successor realms. Its key city was Tharbad. It was the only one of the three realms with ready access to the sea, via the Gwatho River. |
