Is it Fall YET???

So, the last month or so has been like one long endurance trial for me... and it's not quite over yet.

I don't do well with heat, never have, and this summer has been unbelievably hot. Add to that the twice weekly field trips we've been taking the daycare kids on - all using public transportation - and the fact that my hours have increased.... Well, enough said, really.

I will survive this summer.

The fun part is that I'm able to feel myself getting stronger... Oh, so slowly, but it's happening... And I know that's going to make life that much better once the temperatures finally come down.

And hopefully it will help with next week. On Sunday, Karen and I are driving down to meet Mimi at a Sonic in some town I've never heard of before. And we get Cheyenne for a week. We actually wanted 3 weeks with her this summer, but Chey decided that she wanted to spend a week with Mimi and a week with us. Girlfriend's growing up, and she should have some say over where she spends her vacation. And nobody wants her to miss the chance to see Mimi.

The main thing that has all the various parental units in her life breathing huge sighs of relief, expectation, and (in Da's case anyway) a bit of nerves, is that Miss Cheychey is going to take her first solo plane trip on her way back home. We are all so very ready to simplify visit strategies. As her mother said to K, if Chey can fly by herself, then whenever she wants to visit, we can just get her a round-trip ticket, instead of all the insanity we've been going through of everybody trying to find time off work and funding for mass congregations.

We're going to get to see our baby more.
