Each human face is a miracle, an incarnation.  Through my portraits I try to echo a sense of the soul of the individual before me, of his or her innate dignity, grace, beauty.  I work in a traditional manner in oil on linen and charcoal on paper, building my paintings and drawings intricately and gradually.  The paint and the charcoal reflect the translucency and warmth of skin and the timelessness of memory.

When working with each man or woman I draw on my experience as a university instructor and public lecturer to help the sitter feel comfortable and relaxed in order to draw out each subject's natural smile.  When selecting the portrait artist to capture your own, your beloved's, or a corporate colleague's likeness, look for a professional with the genuine patience to get to know your personality and expectations, a sincere love for working with people, a clear procedure and organizational skills, a deep knowledge of his or her field, and the flexibility to work with your busy schedule.
