Artist's Statement

 Each human face is a miracle, an incarnation.

Each child is a gift, fearfully and wonderfully made. 

Each pet is a best friend, a beloved companion.

Through my portraits I try to echo a sense of the soul of the individual before me, of his or her innate dignity, grace, beauty.  I work in a traditional manner in oil on linen, building my paintings intricately and gradually.  The paint reflects the translucency and warmth of skin and the timelessness of memory. My charcoal drawings invoke the tiny miracles and milestones of a new life. Every moment is a miracle, every detail holds meaning.

It is an honor and a privilege to be entrusted with such a task.
