I spent the whole of yesterday evening processing and editing the pictures I had taken during the day. My workflow usually consists of looking at all pictures while the rest is still importing to get a first overview over what pictures I have and about the average quality of the pictures. Afterwards I go thorugh the pictures a second time and give ratings to the pictures I like best - 5 stars to those that are pretty perfect in every regard, 4 for quality pics that are sharp and everything but somehow are missing „something“ and 3 stars for pictures I like but do not love. The rest does not get a rating, indicationg that they are not worth publishing but not so bad as to delete them. This time I decided to do the processing while I was rating the pictures which took me a pretty long time even though I only edited pics that got a rating and only did very basic editing on most of them. But after a few hours I was finished and this morning I decided to split the pictures into two slideshows: one with pictures that got 4 or 5 stars and one with pictures that got a rating (so all with 3, 4, or 5 stars).

Just a small teaser photo. I spent the day in the botanical garden in Frankfurt and took loads of photos (over 750). I have already gone thorugh them and edited a lot of the and I am left with 345 I want to show off - but I am still debating the best way to do that, so it’ll be a few days till I do post a slideshow (or several).

Kangaroo Paw Plant

I’m bored with the design of my old blog and iWeb has become too restrictive for me, so I’m now using RapidWeaver for my website. The current theme is still a work in progress, so don’t be surprised if you see the design of it change quite a bit over time but I already love the flexibility of it even though I am still learning the app.
So what is new on this site?:

I can now use HTML, CSS and Javascript on elements, so the whole site will be more informative and stylish (hopefully)

You can now click on the pictures in the Blog entries to see bigger versions. I love this effect!

RSS wil include all pictures now *yay*

The page now supports smileys *yay*

Comments are being hosted by HaloScan - if you click on Comments on the startpage, they will appear in a new window; if you go to the page of the blog entry (by clicking on the title) you’ll see the comments on the site (sorry for the ugly style of the comments, my changes don’t seem to stick)

In the sidebar you’ll see a tag cloud (once there are tags), a monthly archive of my articles as well as categories

I also added a Flickr Badge to the sidebar, where you’ll see the photos I uploaded to Flickr recently.

The page „Flickr Favs“ shows you a slideshow of pictures I recently favorited on Flickr - unfortunately I can’t directly link to the pictures this way but I’ve put a link to my favorites page on Flickr, so you’ll be able to get to those pictures that way

On the „About me“ page you’ll find some very, very basic info about me plus a list of my photogear and links to my profile on several social networks
