  • 1 can garbanzo beans, (reserve liquid)
  • 1 tablespoon tahini
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • OPTIONAL ADD INS:
  • ¼ red bell pepper, roasted or raw
  • spices, to taste
  • tomatoes
  • cilantro
  • basil

Directions

I don't really use a strict recipe for my hummus, because I just use what I have on hand. Be creative and find out what works best for you! But the basic recipe is this:

Place the undrained garbanzo beans in a food processor or blender. Add the tahini, garlic and any other desired optional items. Add a small amount of liquid reserved from beans to thin the hummus to desired consistency. If using Vitamix, start on VARIABLE 1, moving to 10 then switch to HIGH for 1 minute.

Serve with fresh cut veggies, or in a sandwich with sliced veggies. Yum!
