INTERNATIONAL GUITAR GROUP INCENDIO JOINS WITH NEWYORK/MONTREAL BASED HuDost AND CELTIC HARPIST LISA LYNNE FOR EVENING OF ALTERNATIVE WORLD MUSIC

Performing at the Ojai Valley Woman’s Club in Ojai;

together they bring cutting-edge world music.

On Friday, March 09, 2007, latin guitar world fusion group INCENDIO and Alternative world ensemble HuDost from New York and Montreal will bring their double bill live show to the Ojai Valley Woman’s Club in Ojai along with very special guest New Earth records Celtic Harpist Lisa Lynne.  The Los Angeles-based Incendio’s music has hit the Billboard, CMJ, and NAV charts since their inception in 2000 and will be featuring music from their five internationally acclaimed CD’s, including their latest live CD and DVD offering, “Dia y Noche”.  “We play about 150 shows per year and carved out a following the old-fashioned way – by taking it straight to the people and letting them judge for themselves” staotes bassist/producer Liza Carbé.  Steadily, their reputation as a live act has placed them at such venues as the Sundance Film Festival, California World Music Festival, the Verizon Music Festival, Catalina Jazztrax, the Playboy Mansion - and the list is growing.

Incendio’s core trio – guitarists Jim Stubblefield, JP Durand, and Liza Carbé, have forged a unique sound that melds traditional and contemporary rhythms, with melodies voiced on Spanish guitar.  Following in the footsteps of their strongest influences – John McLaughlin, Al DiMeola, Bireli Lagrene, and Strunz and Farah, to name a few – the trio works to balance technical skill with emotional punch and compositional strength.   Incendio will be promoting their new release, “Seduction”, on the British music imprint New World Music. The CD was released August 2006 and is the first collection of new studio music from the group since 2003’s eponymously titled CD.

Joining the group will be the New York/Montreal based HuDost, an ‘Alternative-World rock, country and eastern fusion’ ensemble who mix a rich, eclectic, blend of  traditional Sufi music, Bulgarian and Balkan adaptations, Farsi, Turkish and Arabic pieces with elements of Folk, Pop, Rock and Southern Gospel.

The core duo of singer-songwriters Moksha Sommer and JemalWade Hines weave mesmerizing vocals and instrumental work to create music with a unique and stirring vocabulary. They will also be joined by celebrated percussionist John de Kadt.

HuDost has toured Europe and performed at Alex Grey’s CoSM, the Salvador Dali Museum and the Rumi Festival and continue to play eclectic and reputable venues. HuDost’s new album ‘Seedling’ was released October 2006. This latest album is comprised both of songs written by the core duo and of Bulgarian/Arabic music fusion. Together with Incendio, this double bill will provide a great evening of world music.

Also joining both groups for this very special occasion will be Windham Hill/New Earth recording artist Lisa Lynne. Lisa Lynne is a veteran musician and performer who has sold over half a million albums of original music featuring her Celtic harp. She has been a self taught multi-instrumentalist since childhood, and has spent the last eighteen years pursuing her passion for the Celtic harp.

Jazziz Magazine described Incendio as “whizzing through a musical virtual reality” while the Pasadena Weekly dubbed the Incendio experience a “blazing guitar inferno.” The groups are hoping that guitar-lovers and world-music fans alike will come to these shows.

CDBaby says about HuDost’s debut CD: “These beautiful atmospheric, warm and resonant songs weave the evocative… With stylistic colors of folk, new age and pop presented with the colorful harmonic vocabulary of the East, this gentle album delicately pairs the two art forms with great success.”
