Inspiration:
Every proper georgian lady needs a shift. Therefore, I decided to make one. :) The shift serves as a protection for the garment, guarding against sweat. It also keeps your corset from pinching your skin (if you wear one, I don't). Hmm...can't think of anything more to say. :) |
Materials:
Eagle's View Women's Chemise pattern, unbleached muslin, off-white ribbon.
|
Construction:
This pattern is extremely simple and goes together very fast. I think I made mine in two sittings. I changed the neck and sleeve drawstrings so that they would tie on the inside, without a ruffle. The neck adjusts very easily and is great for whatever depth neckline you happen to wear. |
The Finished Shift:
A very simple, but necessary garment that was quick and fun to make!
