Our friends the Millers were kind enough to invite us, the Thomases, and our cousins the Luekens, to a historical/formal ball that they were hosting at their church. Of course, we were delighted to attend. The evening was full of good food, watching P&P on the big screen, Melanie Thomas giving instruction in the dancing (which we did until 11:00 p.m.), playing live music and enjoying wonderful fellowship. It was quite a ball!
Thanks to the Thomas family for many of these pictures!!! |
The Thomas family makes their entrance. These gentlemanly West Point cadets (I hope I got that right :) made the introductions and let the guests in.

Our hosts: Matthew and Rebekah Miller (aka Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet :).

The young men stand by the sidelines in embarrassment.
Just kidding. :) Matthew, Jon, Josh, and Michael.
Josh and I wait for the dancing to begin. |
"Let the dancing begin!!!"
And it does... :) |
Pa, Rebekah and I playing "A Hole In The Wall".
And I do not know why Pa is wearing that hat! |

 Jon and Rebekah.
Josh tries not to laugh and fails miserably. |
Out on the front steps Melanie and I argue while our partners "mime" and the "bored" (of dancing) younger ones run around in the parking lot.
|
Hooked on P&P: Emma, Micaiah, Anna, Marscel, Kate (and Aidan's legs :).
|
Melanie and I discuss a question of deep historical accuracy.

Josh joins the ladies in watching more P&P - you just can't get away from it!
