On Friday, August 27 our church went to Plymouth, MA, to participate in the Pilgrim March that occurs every friday in August.

There were tons of costumes in the basement of the historical house that hosted the March and two rooms, one for the gents and one for the ladies. Picking out the clothes was great fun but it was hard to find tops that weren't too big with too short arms and skirts that didn't have to be made thinner with the help of pins. But we girls all had a blast piecing each other together, and we all adored the caps! The twins and Maggie kept trying to pull theirs off. :)

When we were all dressed, we were given instructions as to what we were to do. At the stroke of 6 we started out to the beat of the drum, walking in small groups. We made our way through the streets and up to the graveyard at the top of a hill. There we sang a hymn, listened to a short message by "Elder Brewster", sang another hymn, and descended.

It was a lot of fun, with tons of people taking pictures and waving, while we walked by straight faced. I don't have pictures of the actual march, but I do have ones of before and after. Here they are!

I love this picture of Anna and Aidan. It looks like Aidan is a little boy who likes the girl but tries not to show it, and Anna knows, but does the same.

Here is my dashing Pa as Captain Myles Standish (yes, he is really my dad, father of our clan! :). Pa's helmet didn't fit on his head and was broken, so he had to carry it a particular way to keep it from coming apart!
