Favorite Books

Here are a few of my favorite fiction books, especially sc-ifi novels. Most of these I have read at least twice, but most three times or more. I subscribe to C.S. Lewis's criterion for great books: they are books that can be, and are, read in a certain way. We don't just enjoy them, we glady submit to them. We surrrender, looking, listening, receiving. And in so doing we lose ourselves. We don't use great books, we receive them. Great books, therefore, sustain careful, repeated readings. Well, if you haven't read Lewis's An Experiment in Criticism, buy it today and read it over and over again. Here are some of the sci-fi/fantasy novels that I've read at least three times (not in order of importance or preference):
