I liked this film, but I guess I didn't watch it carefully enough. I didn't notice that the American soldier who had been a missionary in Germany was pretty young to have done normal Christian mission work before the war. Now, of course he might have been speaking grandiosely about a youth missions trip. I also failed to notice that he wouldn't drink coffee. If I would have caught that, it would have been a giveaway, but I didn't. So it turns out that the "Saints" in the title is a reference to the Latter Day Saints, Mormons.
