Our Hawaiian Vacation

In late February 2002, Dinarte and I took a vacation in Hawaii. The first four days we were in Kuai and the last six days on the Big Island.

Ah... Cloudy Maui, our home for four days in late February 2002.

The view from our balconey at the Marriot on Kuai. Not too bad.

The Marriot's massive pool area, as seen from our other balcony.

That's my guy, Dinarte, taking in the sights of Kuai from a helicopter.

Dosen't Chuck look like he's having a blast?

Tom and Lisa, pals of Dinarte who also came to Kaui for the wedding.

The Marriot resort on Kuai where we stayed.

Kuai from the air.

These should look familar. They were used in Jurassic Park.

Kaui's now-defunct sugar mill. Kuai used to export sugar.

Kuai's beautiful shores.

Do these look familiar? They should. These falls were used in Fantasy Island.

Dinarte at at boardwalk in Kailua, a tourist-trap of a town on the Big Island.

Dinarte on the beach at the Four Seasons Hualalai. Isn't he cute!

We occupied the bottom suite at the Four Seasons Hualalai.

Our terrace overlooking King's Pond and the beach.

The view from our living room. King's Pond is just behind and below the bushes.

My cutie on his cute computer! Must have email!

A view of our bedroom from the living room. Very nice.

The LAVA ROCK SHOWER! This is one of the resorts COOLEST features.

This is the King's Pond, a saltwater pond carved out of the lava rock.

The Pahu i'a resurant and Lava Lounge at the Four Seasons. Great food!

The Beach Tree at the Four Seasons. The Quite Pool is behind the carmera.

The Quite Pool. It's beautiful, child-free, and offers full bar service too!

The Palm Grove at the Four Seasons Hualalai. Very pretty.

Another beach at the Four Season Hualalai. They were all gorgeous!

Beware of EVERYTHING! The Four Seasons Hualalai is not liable. :)

Distrub the sea turtles in Hawaii and pay throught the nose. Big time fines!

Aw... a happy li'l sea turtle heading out.

The sea turtles love the Hawaiian sun.

The Four Seasons Hualalai resort to the south as seen from Kona Village.

Most of the Kona coast looks like that, blasted waistland. Dig those snow caps.

Yup. One of the rare, small black sand beaches on Hawaii.

See, black black black. Also, quite HOT in the Hawaiian sun. Ouch.

Me on the rocks at Kona Village.

This is our pal Chuck. He vacationed with us in Hawaii.
