Jeffrey D. Waggoner, director of the Hinsdale Central HS Jazz Ensembles

Mr. Waggoner has taught at Hinsdale Central High School for 22 years. His degrees are from the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Before coming to HCHS in 1985 he taught for eight years in the Ohio public schools. For 19 years he was Music Department Chair at Hinsdale Central HS.

Mr. Waggoner is a past-president of the Illinois Unit of the International Association of Jazz Education. During his tenure as president the Unit won the Outstanding State Unit Award. He also edited the Unit's newsletter for many years, and received the IAJE Outstanding State Newsletter Award.

Mr. Waggoner adjudicates and clinics concert bands, jazz ensembles, and marching bands. He is a member of the Central States Judges Association.

Mr. Waggoner has continued his education with course work at Illinois State University, DePaul University and the Vandercook College of Music. He is currently working on a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the Keller School of Management.

Mr. Waggoner is married and has two grown children, two grandchildren and two contrary cats. He lives in Clarendon Hills, Illinois.
