Faith Through the Roof! We enjoyed the story of four faithful friends who persisted in bringing their lame friend to see Jesus! How can we bring others to Jesus?

We always begin our class with a Bible Study! Our Bible skills are awesome! Where is Capernauum on the map? K-1 graders find out! Bible Quest: We played a game of carrying our friends to Jesus! 2-3 graders get into the act, too! Sometimes it's not an easy job, but true friends persist! Resting after all our efforts! 4-6 graders get to play, too! We all need some help from our friends sometimes! Together we can accomplish great things! Sharing Jesus' love with friends! That's what it's all about! In Cyber Space, we first read about the story in our Bibles. We used our Bibles to help us find the answers to questions. We worked together to fill out a worksheet about the story. The software reviewed the story for us again with movies and games. Later we illustrated the story using the computer. Next we cut out our illustrations. Remember... the house was really crowded, so we needed lots of faces! We drew the houses on the bulletin board -- remember they had flat roofs! Our completed bulletin board - Faith Through the Roof with the artists! In our Art workshop, we made dioramas to tell the story. We decorated shoeboxes with paint, markers and straw on the roof and ladders! We cut holes in the roof, just like the four friends. See the friends lowering their paralyzed friend to see Jesus. Art is FUN! Creativity and smiles! A finished product! And another one... And another one... and one more... In drama, early arrivals drew Capernauum on the board with lots of people! The crowds fill the house to listen to Jesus! The "four" friends carry their paralyzed friend to see Jesus! Up on the roof...how can they get to Jesus? The crowd inside the house! The "scribes" are angry at Jesus -- because he forgives the man's sins. The crowd is amazed that the lame man walks! Isn't Jesus amazing! After our drama, K-1 graders work in journals. 4-6 graders act out the story! The lame man is lowered from the roof right in front of Jesus. Jesus speaks to the lame man, forgiving his sins and healing him. The lame man walks! The crowd is amazed at Jesus' words...forgiving sins and healing! Oh, my!
