More on homeopathy…

“Honor your body, which is your representative in this universe. Its magnificence is no accident. It is the framework through which your works must come; through which the spirit and the spirit within the spirit speaks. The flesh and the spirit are two phases of your actuality in space and time. Who ignores one, falls apart in shambles. So it is written….”   -from The Sacred Script of the Covenant, an ancient Sumari text.

It is commonly thought that exposure to “bugs”, “germs”, viruses and bacteria is what causes sickness in human beings. This is what the modern thought of bacteriology and pathology would tell us; yet what is left out is a rather important piece: you, your body, immune system, vitality, and how it reacts to those assaults. We all know someone who “catches” every cold that comes around; we also all know someone who rarely gets sick at all. What separates the two? How can two people be exposed to the same pathogen, yet only one falls ill? Modern medicine spends far less time researching this concept than they do chasing after microbes, viruses and bacteria and then developing stronger and more powerful drugs to kill them.

Instead of creating stronger and stronger drugs, which ultimately promote drug resistance among microbes, does it not make more sense for us to make our bodies and immune systems stronger? Not only does it make more sense, it is cheaper and far more effective.

How do we do this? How can we make our bodies stronger? How can we strengthen our vitality? What IS vitality, anyway?

Homeopathy is a branch of medicine that deals with these questions. It follows several concepts that we can discuss. The first, simply, is that there are laws and principles according to which a disease or series of diseases arise in a person. There are also laws and principles governing a cure, and every therapist, no matter which therapeutic method is being used, should know and apply these laws and principles. A human being’s main and final objective is continuous and unconditional happiness. Any therapeutic system should lead a person toward this objective. The human organism is not an isolated entity, sufficient unto itself. Every individual is born, lives and dies inseparably from the larger contexts of physical, social, political and spiritual influences.

The laws governing the physical universe are not separate from those governing the functions of living organisms. This is the root we must nourish.

Homeopathic medicines are derived from an infinite number of plants, animals and minerals. Each remedy is created is a unique process called potentization, which removes the physical substance of the medicine, leaving behind a molecular or vibrational imprint. It is this vibration, this energy, which serves as the medicine of homeopathy. We are all resonating with vibration. We are vibration. This is proved by Einstein and quantum physics. We have our own unique resonance in health and in sickness. If we select a homeopathic remedy that is resonating at the same frequency as the individual, that individual’s vitality is strengthened and the body is able to heal itself. Each remedy has a unique set of specific characteristics associated with it (these were teased out 200 years ago in a series of experiments or “provings” done on healthy individuals) and when we listen to the complaints our clients are presenting with, when we ask them how they live their life, how they react to certain situations, what preferences and aversions they have, we are collecting data to compare and contrast with the numerous homeopathic remedies available. We then select the remedy that most closely matches the individual. The remedy is given. When we give a remedy, we are communicating directly with the vitality, the animating force that is within all of us. We strike this vitality with a remedy, touch it, to see what it will then do in response. If the remedy is correct, the vitality will increase and surge, enabling the system to come into a more optimal state. Improvements in the physical, mental and emotional state are expected. Sometimes the body’ vitality responds quickly and sometimes it responds more slowly. It is our job to wait and assess and honor the process.

In this way, by honoring our vitality, by using these unique vibrational medicines to communicate with our vitality, we are able to increase our health and vitality and become more able to adapt to whatever life throws our way: microbes, stress, emotional challenges and things of that nature. Homeopathy is one of the only systems of medicine capable of accomplishing such a feat.
