Reading a Script into the AppleScript Script Editor

Plan A

You should be able to double click on the script that you downloaded (after uncompressing it*) and wind up in the Apple Script Editor.

* Normally, Safari will uncompress .gz compression when you download the script. If it does not, you can drop the script on Stuffit Expander which comes with Mac OS X 10.3.

Plan B

If that doesn't work, here is the long way:

  1. Go to the Finder.
  2. Type Command-Shift-A to go to the Applications Folder.
  3. Double click on the AppleScript Folder to open it.
  4. Double click on the ScriptEditor to launch the AppleScript Editor.
  5. Type Command-O at the AppleScript Editor to read in the script.
