Hello Everyone!

Well, I caught the frenzy and my husband Michael and I (Andrea)will be joining you guys in a 1B aft cabin. I think we got 7192 but I will have to wait till Monday to get my TA to verify it. You INFINITIS seem to be a great bunch of people. I have to say, I joined up partly because of how nice you guys seem and partly based on the rush (bandwagon effect) but the real reason is NOENSENADA disembarkation!! Also, no long flight to Hawaii! Thank you Shadow fordoing all of the roll call names. It does take a whole bunch of work and I really appreciate it. I'm doing it on the Millie Trans Atlantic 10-26 thread. I still can't believe you guys have so many posts for a cruise that's a year and a half away! GOSH! But here's my short bio:

The Degner's (Petoonya - I copied your Format)

Ages: Mike's 48 and Andrea's 46

Occupations: Mike works for SBC and I am a Call Center Consultant for AT&T.

Residence: Town of Delafield in lovely Southern Wisconsin. We live in a ranch house up on a glacial drumlin overlooking Pewaukee Lake.

We have 3 cats, Alex - our Siamese (alias Little Guy), Haley (named after Hale bop the comet), and Jack (a big old fat Tom)

Family: No Kids, just us.

Interests: Mike loves computer PC games and Trivia; I love Cruise Critic and Stitchery. We also love to bicycle all the lovely rail trails herein Wisconsin (at least in the 6 months when the weather is good). Of course, we are also Packer Fans (Ferge - I'm guessing you agree with us on this)

Favorite Hawaii spots: Oh Gosh - we haven't been since 1985. I'm afraid they have paved paradise since we were there last. But if Wialea beach is still there, I remember how beautiful it was. Also the road to Hana (but we wouldn't be trying that in a short port day). And of course the Volcano. I would like to try Cruiser Bob's down Haleakala.

Last cruise: Just got back - Century Western 8/2/03

Future cruises: Millie Med 10-14-03 then continuing back to back on Millie on the Trans Atlantic 10-26-03. I am also booked on the Radiance on1-18-04 with the girls from my hair salon. Then My husband and I booked the Zenith out of Jacksonville on 2-15-04 (really great price also). And of course,  just booked the Infinitinis cruise for 12/5/04. Needless to say, our credit card companies love us!

Favorite wine: My husband doesn't drink, but I like Cabernet's (just a glass or two at dinner)

Dreams: Celebrity puts in a direct connect phone line in my home toask my permission anytime they want to change anything. (How's that for a pipedream?)

Also, we are main seating - table for two people. We like to sit upstairs by the railing and look down on everybody (so we can check who's obeying the dress code - JUST KIDDING)

I looked at the website. It's great! Unfortunately, we don't have a digital camera or a scanner. I'll ask some of my co-workers if they can help me scan one of the many Celebrity portraits my husband and I have (over) spent on over the years.

It has taken me almost 2 hours to read all of these posts. I think we are all nuts.

Nice meeting you all.

Sincerely, Andrea (25 cruises - 22 with X)

AMARINEMOM

A little about us: We're Ricky and Georgene from Fayetteville, Georgia. We moved here from California 11 years ago, so I guess we're considered "southerners" now. All of our family is still in California, so we'll go a few days early to visit.

Ricky is 44 and works for Geico Direct as an AD Adjuster. Georgene49 is a homemaker. I am recovering from nerve surgery so my typing is limited at this time.

We have two adult children and now we are 'empty nesters' and getting used to being on vacation everyday! We have a beautiful little girl, Golden Retriever named "Brie" who is one year old and we inherited my father's toy poodle "Smokey" who has to be as close to you as skin!

I had seen this itinerary when it first came out and thought "how fantastic"! Then the bug for this cruise really grabbed us because of the postings and also because some cruisers going on the Zenith with us, gave us a push! lol This will be the 2nd Celebrity cruise and we haven't even sailed the first one yet!  This will also be our first time to Hawaii.

Our other cruises are: RCCL Song of America 8/90, HAL Westerdam4/96, Carnival Sensation 8/98, NCL Sea 4/2000, NCL Dream 7/2000 won playing bingo on Sea! Costa Atlantica 4/2001, Golden Princess Transatlantic 9/2001,Fascination 11/2001 Suzanne Somers Goddess Cruise, NCL Norway 6/9/2002Penthouse Suite! Sweet! Brilliance of the Seas 2/24/03, Grand Princess 5/18/03Awful Experience! Celebrity Zenith 12/7/03 and Infinity 12/5/04! I might sneak in another cruise in between! he,he,he

Our interests: Rick likes to golf and work in the yard, Georgene's  hobby is scrapbooking, decorating. We both enjoy cruising!

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

ArtM

Here's some info on Art (62) and Nancy (60). Nancy is a retired nurse (mostly teaching) who works a little giving flu shots in the fall, a day a month at a long term care facility, and two hours a week as a parish nurse in one of the local congregations. Art's a retired Chem. E. who does an occasional short project for local companies.

Besides cruising, we travel a lot to various timeshares, and do a lot of bicycling. Art is a reasonably talented duplicate bridge player, and sometimes teaches bridge.

Elder son Todd is an attorney, and, as of yesterday, the father of our first grandchild. Younger son Seth is ITV manager on the Infinity. Don't know where he'll be in Dec '04; that's several lifetimes in the future in the cruise staff business.

Like Beav, we're also on the Summit transcanal cruise in September.

B.A.

 (Barbara Anne & Bob)

A brief Bio of us. I'm a tad under 75 and Bob is a tad over. We are both retired from real work, but manage to stay busy with odd jobs and volunteering. This will be our 3rd trip to Hawaii on the Infinity. We hope to get all our excursions that we missed the two previous times. We have 3 grown children, son DC Fire/Rescue, 1st Daughter is in accounting and 2nd daughter, lives in Portland, OR. We have 3 grands -son in Marines and the granddaughters are studying Para-medics and child care. This will be our 4th time on the Infinity. The first time was to Alaska.

BEAV

I've been neglecting to post all week! Right side of the brain says the cruise is SO far off, what if we have to cancel for whatever reason? How hard it would be to get acquainted with everyone for the next 15-16 months and then have to drop out!

And then the left side of the brain kicks in and wonders how can I miss out on all this pre-cruise fun!!!

So here goes.....

Two friends, Brian & Gary, both 40-something. Both work for Amtrak (please no hate mail and don't even ask for the fare from Poughkeepsie to Peoria! ). Brian works in the West Coast Operation Center and Gary tends bar in the lounge car. Shall we get Gary to concoct the official group drink "Infinitini "?

I'm going to try and talk my parents into going as well. They both love Hawaii, but I think are somewhat intimidated by lots of sea days. I CAN'T be their blood son!! Don't be surprised if I ask everyone to bombard them with emails!

Coincidentally, we're on the same cruise as Art & Nancy in about 5-6 weeks (Summit, Panama Canal)

And we almost met Cruisinjudy earlier this year before Infinity gots ick about 5 days before we were to set sail from Ensenada to Hawaii! Do we DARE book on the same cruise again, Judy! Not to mention the same ship!

Oh ya, we're in 7212 . I pity anyone in the aft cabins who ISN'T a part of this group! Wonder if they know what they've got themselves into!

My name is Billi and I am a cruiseaholic! I am 55 and hubby Allanis 62. Together we have 2 daughters (Jen, 27, lives in Baltimore with us and will be married in April; Alix, 25 today! lives in NYC but is thinking of going to New Zealand to work on an organic farm --sigh). Additionally, Allan has two older children who both live in the New York region. Our lives are enriched by our two old Siamese cats (Tut & Thai) and our retired racing greyhound, Bacchus. Allan & I both work for the State of Maryland (he is an auditor and I am a welfare fraud investigator). Our #1 avocation is community theatre-- Allan is on the board of one theatre, and I am a board member of another. He just finished directing Carousel (for my theatre) and I just produced an entry in the Baltimore Playwrights Festival (which was directed by the VP of his theatre).

We are both looking forward to the Hawaii cruise and hosting a party for all our fellow CC-ers! Fortunately, we have a cruise in January first --don't know I would last that long otherwise!

Okay you guys, Nancy and I have bared our souls, how about the rest of you

Nancy, I'm no computer guru, can only log onto Cruise Critic, Ebay, get my email and play games. Anyone else who can set up a web page?

Brahmama

 Oops,

In my previous post, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Carol and my husband is Will. We are retired educators and raise Brahman cattle now to keep him busy and out of trouble. And also to payfor a cruise now and then!

I've not been able to sign up for the Cruise Critic Party. Is it too far in advance? I just get a message saying that 12/5/04 is not the date for the Infinity.....

Is anyone planning any tours on the Islands? I've only been to Honolulu and don't know much about the rest of Hawaii.

Cracker Ken

Ken (50) and Sonya (44) currently live in Lakeland, FL.  We were both born and raised in Plant City(Central), FL and have always lived here. Yes, native Floridians - there are some of us left. :-)  We are both descendants of pioneer FL families (hence my posting name). We live with our two cats, Sissy and Sheba.  We have no kids (the cats keep us busy enough, as it is).   Ken is a retired law enforcement officer and has been working as an insurance fraud investigator with a major insurance company for the last12 years. Sonya is a homemaker and helps out her elderly mother. Ken's hobbies are photography, yard work, reading CC, and other Internet/computer activity.  Sonya keeps up to date with all the activity on CC and the prices of cruises on the web sites for the various cruise lines, and other Internet sites. Sonya also plans our cruises and watches for the best deals out there (I think she has learned enough about this stuff to open a travel agency - don't travel agents get extra good deals or free cruises sometimes?).

We went on our first cruise in May'03 on the HAL Rotterdam and were immediately addicted. No doubts about it.  Since then we have been on HAL's Zuiderdam, and have cruises booked at Thanksgiving (HAL Veendam) and Christmas (HAL Ryndam) this year.  In addition to this Hawaii cruise in Dec of 04, we are looking into an Alaska cruise in May of 04.  This cruise to Hawaii could be our first, or maybe second, cruise on Celebrity (we could end up on Celebrity to Alaska).  In the past our travels included trips driving to locations in the car, then we started flying out West to visit the various National Parks (Yellowstone, Glacier, Yosemite, Grand Tetons, Grand Canyon, Joshua Tree) and various sites along the way including southern California (San Diego, Palm Springs).  We have put on thousands of miles driving out there. Then, we discovered cruising. We love it. Unpack  once, see it all!  No checks when dinner is done. No driving. Wake up in the morning and you are at a new place!   Enough of the driving trips for a while.

We have a long wait until this Hawaii cruise. Plenty of  time to speculate and plan.  We'll look forward to meeting you folks on the ship.  We'll certainly be at the Celebrity  Connections CC Party (hopefully their web site will allow us to register eventually).

cruise freak

We own a business on the south side of Indianapolis. We are in cabin9086. We are in a concierge cabin (I'm thinking of changing to a Sky Suite but I believe the only difference is a little size and a butler. We had a butler before and it was nice but not really worth $500.00 per person). I booked for the first time through Cruisequick as their price was so good that our regular TA couldn't even come close. We are cruise lovers and have one planned next month and another planned to take our two daughters (24 and 21) for Christmas. We are renting a private yacht in St. Thomas on Christmas day. We are really looking forward to that. After I booked this Hawaii trip I could hardly sleep for two days. I am so excited. My husband really likes martinis and in fact had a chocolate one last night. He will enjoy trying many new ones.

cruisinjudy

As to my bio...

We are Jim 64 and Judy 57.

Jim is a retired probation officer and Judy is a retired school teacher. We just love Hawaii and cruising and any travel. We work in the yard a lot and grow lots of flowers. I works on the computer, do a bit of scrapbooking and take lots of  pictures. Jim does a lot of yard work and reads intellectual books, never novels like  me!  Two children...Dave, 33 and Jen, 25. We have two pets, Misty the dog and Patches the cat.

CRUZBUDS

Jim & Alison - El Cajon CA

We are fortunate to live in the San Diego area.  Jim just turned 50 and

works in the office furniture industry and Alison is the controller of a

civil engineering firm and is 47.

We have no children except our cats, Daphne and Duncan; Daphne was

named after Costa's Daphne, which was one of the most special cruises we've

taken.

This will be our third Hawaii cruise, but our first round trip.  Hawaii

has always been special to us.  Alison lived there as a girl with her Navy

family, we honeymooned there, and have visited several times.  We have

relatively high stress jobs and Hawaii and cruising are perfect for us.

What we don't get to this trip, we'll do on the next one.  We were thrilled

that Celebrity and Princess are doing RT from the west coast.  We always

wanted to go on Holland America's RT from S.D., but with no competition the

prices were always pretty high.

We love cruising from San Diego; we're about 20 minutes from the

terminal and don't mind not having to deal with airport hassles.

On our last cruise we met a great bunch of people at the CC party and

can't wait for this one.

cruzzer

Hi All.

I was so excited yesterday about booking this cruise, I forgot to introduce ourselves.

Condensed life story:

We are Joel and Lois from Texas.

Joel just turned 66, I am 53.

Joel has 2 children from a previous marriage: ages 42 & 38. My two (also prev. Mar) are ages 35 & 31. So we always say we have 4 children! There are grandchildren between us, ages 19, 14, and almost 6. All live in San Antonio, which is a blessing for us.

We are both retired, and living La Vida Bueno.

I was a tennis pro in my younger years (where I met my husband). Also a sales manager and buyer for a large concern encompassing all of SouthCentral Texas. Retired in '86 at the ripe old age of 36 to be with my DH, as he had to travel for his job.

Joel was a professional athlete for 12 years, and after a while returned to coaching for another 15 years.

Our first ever cruise was in 2002. Little did we know we would fall  head over heels cruising, and I am addicted to Cruise Critic!

We're looking forward to meeting you all.....

L&J

Cyndee

Bob and I enjoy cruising, and love Celebrity. Bob is 55, and I'm 48, we have three children, Amy is in her last year of college(radiology major), Shawn is in school for electric and air-conditioning. and of course our new baby Sophie an eleven week old puppy. (who by the way is the boss of the house already)

Bob is an auto tech for Volvo, and I work as a secretary for four physicians (pedi)

We look forward to meeting all of you.  Cyndee and Bob

debiitodd

Hello shipmates:

You may add three more to your roster.  I finally got confirmation on our cabin and weÕre ready to go!  It took a long time, but I read all 20 and a half pages from this thread, I didnÕt want to miss a thing!  It will be so much fun chatting with everyone from now till the time for us to go.  I enjoyed your bios and pix, below is a little about us:

I am 45 and widowed with a girl, 13 and a boy 12.  (TheyÕll be 14 &13 on the ship)  We live in southeastern Indiana with Shadow, a lab-mix with one blue and one brown eye; Sam, a stubborn basset hound; and Sassy, a cat that thinks sheÕs a dog and comes when sheÕs called!  I am a cancer survivor for over four years now and currently disabled due to severe nerve damage.  I worked as an accountant, but got bored with numbers and went back to school in 96 for computer engineering.

My friend,1cruselvr, told me she had booked this trip and I decided that it would be perfect for us.  We have sailed on CarnivalÕs Elation and Sensation together, while IÕve taken cruises with others on the RCI Brilliance OTS and Holland America Veendam, and Ocean Princess (former Ocean Cruise Lines).  My interests are cruising, art-drawing/painting, cooking, gardening, and swimming.  My children enjoy videogames, basketball, swimming, and cruising.

Harvey (he's staying home for this time) and I have been married 35 years and are both originally from Brooklyn,NY.

We moved to So. Florida in 1973, when our son & daughter were 8 months & 4 years old, our "kids" are now 31 and 34. We have 1 grandchild, she is 11 and they all live nearby.  I'm 56 and still working,  I'm a medical secretary and have worked for the same surgeon for over 17 years.

We started cruising in 1989, on the Britanis for 2 nights.  We were hooked and have been cruising ever since.

We've been on approximately 20 cruises...from as short as 2 nights to nowhere to 14 nights trans-canal, Caribbean and Southern Caribbean quite often, and last October we sailed on the Radiance to Hawaii.  I wasn't planning on going back to Hawaii so soon, but when Kathy (kdillon) invited me to room with her, it was hard to say no.  Kathy, Walter & Iola and myself met last June on the Century and we became great friends.  We had a "reunion cruise" in December and I'm so looking forward to seeing them again on

December 5th.  I had lunch with Liz and Burt & Shelly on Saturday, it was so good to meet them.  I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone on this cruise and making many more new friends.

Grtcook39

Greetings from San Diego!

I will be joining you along with my 13 year old daughter. She will be 14 by then. Do you know of any others her age who will be sailing with us?

I was trying to catch up and read all 7 pages of this thread, lol,  that you all have done in 1 week. wow

We are sailing this December on the new Serenade. I can't believe we are booked so far out. But, like you, I just couldn't pass up this great deal.

Gusti

hancock

I've been watching in the background but haven't said anything. You already know we are coming through John Sax. We were on the May sailing of Infinity to Vancouver. With such an early start, this thread has a chance to beat our last thread. Of course, we are still talking on that one even though the cruise ended almost 3 months ago.

I think it is a little too early for any great details in our life. Will just say we are mid 50's and retired. We live on Long Island.

Planning on late seating. Booked a cat. 11 but that may change. Really liked back end of Continental deck on last cruise. Quiet and close to elevatornearest all the food.

Jeano222

I'm a straggler into this group, so here is a little personal info. Jean-59, Larry 62. Celebrating 42 years of marriage on this cruise. This will be our third cruise on Infinity, and by far, she is our favorite Celebrity ship. We are staying at Loews Coronado Bay on 12/4. We are in cabin 8111. We will be at Balboa Park on Saturday, I'm a little confused, do I wear a pink or a red flower? If anyone has questions about Infinity, feel free to contact me or ask here on the board.

Donald: Thank you for the welcome, we will be there. We have early seating for dinner.

joycolo

Count me in! I know Gusti said we'd be there, and I'm just seconding her (e)motion!!

I'm from Canada, name is Joyce, and have wanted to go to Hawaii since Grade 6!

Can hardly wait, but have a few cruises to do before I hit the 'lei' one!

Just tell me where the party will be, and I'll be there!!

I am a Canadian from Canada's capital, Ottawa, Ontario.  Am married, but hubby doesn't think he'll like cruising.

Am sharing a cabin with Lu Ann and Gusti.

I have two boys, 27 and 29 yrs. old,  3 grandchildren, 5,1,and newborn.

I have two wonderful cats, Phoebe (7), and Max aka Winkie (6mos).  We lost our beautiful Wayne in Feb., he was a 23 lb med-haired grey cat who thought he was a human. We dearly miss him.

I love to quilt, didn't say I was good at it!!

I am so excited about this cruise, ever since I saw the movie 'Maand Pa Kettle go to Hawaii' when I was in Grade 6 (many moons ago), my dream has been to go to Hawaii.  And now I am!!

By the time Dec. 04 comes along, the minimum number of cruises that I will have taken is 6!  I have a lot of catching up to do.  I dolove to cruise. Can hardly wait for retirement so I don't have to ration out the vacation days!!  I can cruise any old time I want.

Joy2

Judy - brief bio - I'm counting on Vada to take pictures on our December Statendam cruise (anyone want to join us?) - from what I've been able to gather we may be the chaperones - the oldest in the group - Bill will be 74- is a Scorpio - 11/11.  I turned 72 last birthday.  We live with two marvelous collies, Splash and Shimmer and two wonderful cats, Zoe and Zack in Point Loma,  and still keep busy with our office -although we've cut down on clients and our other projects or I wouldn't have time to get on here!  We've been married 26 years - celebrated on the Radius on 9/4.  You can tell that we celebrate our birthdays and anniversaries at sea when it's convenient - plus one other cruise per year -looks like December is becoming standard. Children are scattered - do have one daughter and granddaughter here inSan Diego, a son in San Francisco, a daughter in Oregon with her husband Š her grown son lives in Annapolis, her grown daughter in Oregon, and a daughter and husband who live in NYC although at the moment he is on tour with "Urinetown" as music director. That's us folks.

kdillon1956

Count me in! I heard about this cruise from Walter (stinsowmn) who I met in June on Century. I booked it today thru CruiseQuick, and am traveling solo. One question: I have a guaranteed balcony but won't know my cabin number until a week out. Does that sound right?

Everyone sounds like so much fun, I can't wait to meet you!

About me:

I'm a veterinary technician (new to the profession), single, no kids, and I'm 47. I love to cruise; I also love movies, opera, classical music, reading, traveling and meeting new people! I've lived in the Wash. DC area all of my life and I love it.

Count me in for a mock-tini!

Good grief! I went away to read the beginning of this thread and look at all the people who have already posted. Rita, thanks for the information on the bio. By the way, I told my DH that we are going to Hawaii in a year and he is excited about the idea. Of course, he thinks I'm crazy, but whatÕs new? Besides, he is just as nuts as I am, so we should fit right in. Wait until he finds out how many people he is going toknow before he even gets on the ship.

Anyway, we are Gerald (age 49) and Linda (age 51) from Laguna Beach. Gerald does freelance Web and database design and works out of our house. Linda is a lawyer (specializing in workers compensation) working in San Diego, commuting most days by train.

We don't have any kids of our own, but we have 4 feline children: Sneaky Pete, Boris, Natasha and Rocky. We have 3Horsie children: Faith Cowboy and Luke. We are also Ņstable parentsÓ (as opposed to "unstable", I suppose) to about 10 horseback riding girls between the ages eight and 15 (long story best told over a lot of martinis).

We both love to cruise. This will be our fourth cruise on Celebrity, including our next cruise, which will be on January 19, 2004 on Mercury to the Mexican Riviera. We both love the relaxation of sea days, but we are looking forward to going snorkeling or scuba diving in Hawaii. These days, our hobbies are our horses. We both love to go trail riding every chance we get and we are just starting to do some training for gymkhana(games done on horseback).

Whew. It has been a busy day. I am off to snuggle my honey and dream of island breezes!

Lindsey and Bob Ein are currently living in Lexington, KY near beautiful Keeneland Race Track (one of the locations for "Seabiscuit"). Bob is an engineer retired from the Dept. of Navy (Defense/Intelligence business) who was born in Boston and was raised in Rye, NY prior to moving to Washington, DC. He continues to invent things, get patents and hopes to bring some of the things to market (most medical related).

I am a Cincinnatian, Ohio State grad.; public relations/journalism degree. I have also lived in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Washington, DC (where I met Bob) and Arlington, VA. I have 3 sons from my first marriage, all married to remarkable young women, and 4 "grands". My oldest son and family recently moved from Seattle to Cincinnati where he is a Director of Network Engineering for a computer software company. It is a happy thing for us to be near 7 year old Lindsey and 4 year old Parker. My middle son is a neonatologist at Bethesda Naval Hospital and lives in Silver Spring, MD with his wife and 5 year old Matilda and 3 year old Oliver. My youngest son is a composer, doctoral candidate at New England Conservatory and a prof. at Boston Conservatory. His wife is a professional organist and Director of Music at an Episcopal church in Portsmouth, NH. They live in Kittery, ME. They all are the lights of my life.

I have worn many hats from caterer to model to professional volunteer and association manager, mostly non-profit organizations. I am currently the Director of the Center on Aging Foundation at the University of Kentucky, raising money for the research center (predominately Alzheimer's disease, but dealing with many issues of aging). You may have heard of the Nun Study that is headquartered at the COA.

Reading, writing, entertaining, exercising at Curves and travel are among my current interests. Bob spends most of his time at the computer and swimming laps. We are both involved in Bible studies, he in BSF, I am in a Beth Moore study. I have been known to attend Red Hat society functions with the Fabulous Fillies chapter here.

This is our first cruise and we will be celebrating our 14th anniversary. I have wanted to go to Hawaii since I first saw "South Pacific" and had a college sorority sister from Oahu. It is a dream come true.

I'm going on my 30th cruise on the Grand Princess with my cruise buddy, Joyce (Joycolo) in September!

Lyn and Malc (LynMc) Š We live in Leicester which is a town in the Midlands in the UK. Malc is self-employed and I work as a secretary at the University Š big plus is the free 24 hours x 365 days internet!!. We are in our50Õs and have been married for nearly 34 years, have two children (1 boy and 1girl) now both married and between them they have given us 4 grandchildren (2 x boys and 2 x girls). MalcÕs hobby is golf, mine is lawn-green bowls and my grandchildren!

This will be our 6th cruise, 3rd on Celebrity. We have always wanted to see Hawaii, and two years ago had a wonderful aft cabin booked with  Celebrity but then Malc was made redundant in the January so we had to cancel that. This is the replacement for that cruise (although all the aft cabinshad gone by the time we booked) but we are really looking forward to this one, even if it is 15 months away!

You all sound like great fun and we are both looking forward to meeting up with you all in 2004!

Really looking forward to thanking you in person.

Mary (54) is a R.N. Marc (56)is a corporate auditor for a large automotive company.  Have four children, five grandchildren, one dog, one cat.

Love to travel. Our first cruise was only a year ago on RCI's Explorer.  Our next cruise is on the Constellation sailing 11/15/03.

Count us in for the Pre-cruise party.

A special thanks to all the "organizers".  You're doing a great job of keeping us all in order.  Don't know how to send a photo, yet, but I'm working on it. I'm sure I'll figure it out sometime before we cruise.

mdobbins

We're Mike and Jane. We are both 47. Mike is a research and development chemist with a major pharmaceutical company headquartered in Indianapolis. Jane is the director of a social service agency in Lafayette that provides shelter for children in crisis and she is the president of the Indiana state board of directors for residential social service agencies. We do not have children but we are fortunate enough to be adopted by two female cats (a grey tiger named Sam and a calico named, oddly enough, Callie; both 16) and two female dogs (Mollie, a 6 year old shepherd/boxer mix and Daisy, a 3 year old purebred boxer). Mike's passions are golf, scuba diving, audio/video "necessities" with remote controls and his lovely spousal unit. Jane's passions are reading, gardening, Hawaii and that guy that keeps trying to add more remote controls that she'll never figure out. We are both crazy about cruising, and we feel there is nothing better than mimosas on the verandah on sea days! We will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in 2004 with this cruise.

(AKA: Cruise Diva)

New Wave Dave

Hi All, I am "NewWave" Dave (on CruiseCritic).  My wife (Bonnie) and I

are in our early-40's and have been hooked on cruising since our first

cruise in 1998.  Literally every penny that we spend on vacationing

 goes towards a cruise.

Occupations: Dave works for Delphi Electronics and Safety division as

a Systems Engineer for Embedded Microprocessor products and Bonnie is

a Parapro Aide in the local school system.

Residence: We live in a small town just outside of Flint, Michigan.

Family:  We have 2 kids (only one still at home), 2 Grand-daughters,

 and 3 cats.

Interests: I (Dave) love golf, basketball, Digital Cameras, and

computers.  Bonnie prefers the peaceful solitude found in reading

 romance novels.

Last cruise: Just got back from a Canadian cruise on the Voyager of

the Seas.  So far, our favorite ship is the Voyager and our best

overall cruise was to the Panama Canal on the Coral Princess.

Favorite aspects of cruising: 1) Love to meet all the new and

interesting people, who come from all walks of life.  2) The food, we

love to eat and always get our money's worth.  If I don't gain at

least 10 lbs on the cruise then I have not reached my goal.  On my

last 7-day cruise, I ate 37 pieces of cheesecake.  I hope to better

 that record on the Infinity.

My name is Karen and my husband, Ed, and I can now be counted among the Infinitinis.  We have a balcony guarantee and will be at main seating.  I am 41 and an office manager, Ed is 52 and runs an eBay business, and we are from New Jersey, where we live with our adopted greyhound, Spot.  Neither of us are martini drinkers -- I prefer red wine and Ed is a Blanton's bourbon drinker, although he is often seen ordering margaritas (on the rocks with salt)

We're relative latecomers to this sailing, as we just booked 10 days ago.  I've read through the messages here, but have obviously missed the chats.  I hope to participate in some of them in the future.  I've also tackled the Nerd thread but it's going to take me quite a while to get through

 the main roll call. :)

I met a small but great group through the Royal Caribbean roll call board prior to our Feb. 6 Brilliance sailing, and I really believe  our cruise was the best yet because of that.  This Yahoo! group is already four times that size, but I hope to get to know you-- at least some of you -- in the upcoming months and perhaps this cruise will top the last.  It's a tall order, though!

Bio of de Vliegende Hollander:

The Legend of the Flying Dutchman...

is about a mariner who is condemned to travel the seas forever. "The Dutchman can only find eternal peace in the arms of a faithful woman." This story reflects our family history... my great grandfather moved to Argentina with his sons; my father was born there. My Grandfather moved back to Holland with his sons and I was born there. My father moved first to South Africa and finally to Canada with his sons. We all had the passion to seek out new worlds etc.... At university I obtained a degree in geography and became a high school teacher. After two years of teaching I went on holidays to study my roots in Holland. My uncle took me to The Hague to some of his friends and there I met my future wife. Within an hour I told her father I was taking her back to Canada with me. We were married the following summer. We have now been married for 35 years, have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.

I am now 60, Joanne 55. I have been retired from teaching for 5years. Joanne has owned and managed a video store for 20 years.

I now share my passion for travel with my wife and cruise for about8 weeks a year. We are booked on the Zenith back to back in November, the Rotterdam 33 day Icelandic and Norway cruise next June and of course the Infinity in Dec 04.

Joanne and I are trivia junkies and just love the sea days because of the "cerebral" activities on board. We both love to read but I am also addicted to strategic video games.

When I am not looking for the next cruise deal I find myself reading cruise critic postings from other cruise fanatics... I think most of them will be on the Infinity in Dec 04.

WOO HOO!! We're finally booked! Look out Aloha Land!!

Judy- I love the idea you had for the T shirts! You covered ALL the bases. Wonder how big a shirt you would need to include everything! LOL!

I (Vada) retired from the County of San Bernardino over us years ago, and have worked 2-days a week since then for the Dept. of Children's Services as a secretary. Keeps me in vacation $'s. Jerry recently retired and I've got him busy with a "Honey-Do" list!

Although we aren't drinkers, you better believe we will be at the parties!! I can carry around a 7-Up with umbrella and/or olives and blend in!

You will find us on Vista Deck in room #7190.

Quendryth

Larry & I have lived in Arizona for over 30 years. He is originally from a small town in Wisconsin, Columbus, pop. about 3,000.  I am from Chicago, pop. a lot!  Neither of us liked the cold weather, hence the relocation to the desert.  Yes it is a dry heat - most of the time.  We have our Monsoon from June to October when it gets muggy, haboobs blow in from the desert (big walls of dust). Big walls of water can fill our normally dry washes so we have a "stupid motorist law."  If you get stuck in a running wash & you have to be rescued, your are a "stupid motorist" and you pay the piper! I like this law.

Larry works in commercial refrigeration and heating.  He is involved with repairing ammonia systemsas well as heating boilers.  A good trade to have in the desert!  I am goofing off most of the time still trying to find the right line of work which soon will be retirement.  That I know I will excel in with no problem.  We have no children, 2 Brittany Spaniels and we did have a cat, Quendryth, but she went to cat heaven.  The bio on the cat is that she was a Birman and all Birman's are named according to the alphabet.  Q was the letter when my cat was born, so the breeder chose Quendryth who was a Celtic princess who so wanted to become queen, she killed her brother to ascend to the throne.  So my cat was named after a very infamous legend!  I chosethe screen name because I didn't think anyone else would have it.  So farI am the only Quendryth - Q for short.

This will be our first  cruise on Celebrity and we both are looking forward to it with great anticipation.  We have sailed on the old American Hawaii Independence, to of all places Hawaii!  We have sailed Carnival (a long time ago, when we didn't know any better!)  the past 6 years have found us on HAL, sailing on the Statendam, to of all places Hawaii!  We also sailed her to Alaska.  We have sailed the Noordam, the Rotterdam where we met Billie& Allan of acting fame on this board.  We will be sailing the Ryndam in 2 weeks and NOT to Hawaii but we do begin in Vancouver to the Mexican Riviera and disembarking in San Diego.

So this will be our third cruise to the Islands, & maybe this time I will get to see the Polynesian Cultural Center!  Each time we were there, it was Sunday, & they are closed.  Larry says if we see it  this time, we have no excuse to come back again for our fourth time!

I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you. You all sound like an intelligent group who just want to have fun!  Sounds like my kind of people!

Rlo

Rick (56) retired financial planner  & Pamela (4-) retired restaurant owner. Our cabin will will be #9175....just got back from the Infinity Hawaii cruise on 10/8/03and decided to repeat this wonderful experience. Will be a bit more choosey on our excursion choices this time but 2 stand out...1) Polynesian culture center and 2) the Movie tour. This will be our twenty sixth? cruise and we're hooked. We are booked on the Horizon 1/30/04; Vantage Tulips in Bloom river cruise in Holland 4/6/04; Royal Carib Med 7 day out of Barcelona 10/30; and Millennium transatlantic 111/7/04; then of course this cruise. Big year ahead.

SDBarb

Hi Guys,

I'm Barb and my husband is Stan. We are originally from the Cleveland area but have lived near San Diego since 1978. I am 60 and Stan is62. I was originally a teacher and now sell clothing to schools. Stan is an accountant. We both enjoy spectator sports. Stan is a football fanatic rooting for the Browns and Chargers. I prefer baseball and am anxiously awaiting the opening of Petco Park, new home of the Padres.

We have become addicted to cruising and are also scheduled on the December 8th 2003 sailing of the Mercury as well as this Infinity cruise. We have reserved the corner FV cabin on the Sky Deck and are waiting for official confirmation. That huge balcony-just right for a CC party. You're all invited.

Two cruises to dream about, how fantastic is that?

Shadow

We are Art & Cindy both are 47. Dec 3rd is our wedding anniversary and the 21st my b-day, so this cruise we are celebrating both. We  live close to Boulder, CO. We have a son that is 21 and very jealous that he can't come with us because of college. Cindy is an Accountant and Art is a General Sales Manager. Our favorite hobbies are traveling, especially cruising and golf. We have a cat Shadow, thus the name, but always keep in mind that "The Shadow Knows".

Wow, this is great. I see everybody has at least two things in common, cruising and Dec 5th/Infinity.

mdobbins, for a minute I thought you were describing us. both 47,hubby likes to golf, scuba, and the remote thingy. You work for SS, I use to work for ChildrenÕs Services, now a non-profit low-income daycare.

billi, I always wanted to be actress, but every time I tried everyone laughed.

Looks like the " Infinitinis " is getting most of the votes.

Wish we had a bigger balcony, because we would gladly be throwing a party too. I wonder who snagged the PH's?

StephenJohnson and vistadeck

Prior to the cruise we'll be flying into Las Vegas on the 2nd of December, then off to San Diego for the 3rd and 4th.  We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Old Town.  We are Captain Club Select members.  This is our second time on Infinity.  A bit about us, Stephen is a Chemical Engineer and I am a housewife, my hobbies are playing piano, guitar (I love Karaoke nights !) and do wheel throwing and hand building ceramics.  We are both Canadians, living in the US for 12 years now.  We dont do many tours, we like to walk the towns and snorkle on the islands but hope to do one or two fun excursions on this trip.  Can't wait to meet everyone :)  Please let us know if a dinner is set up for a get together in San Diego and please include us for that.

steveweese

Something about us. Steve and Debie Weese West Bountiful, Utah both late 40's Married 28 years . 2 Married children Nikki 25 and Nate 23, two still at home Katie 16 and Kimberly 13. I am a production Mgr. for a company that make specialty supplements for race and performance horses. Debie is the Bindrey Supervisor for a large local printing company.   We have spent the past 15 years at the ballpark chasing our kids around and looks like we will have at least 5more years left. After eating hotdogs at the ballpark we look forward to the great food on the cruise ships.  We have sailed with HAL to Alaska and Mexican Riviera     Panama canal with Celebrity   and will do Mexico again Oct 11on Star Princess with our 2 younger daughters. Last but not least maybe our favorite cruise was to Hawaii on the SS Independance in 1988. A very short story about that cruise. It was our first cruise and also our first trip toHawaii/ The TA told us that ship was not fancy and was more like a Holiday Inn. With our budget Holiday Inn was top of the line. Spent more nights at Super 8'sand Motel 6's at the time. The first night and the next sea day the passengers did nothing but gripe about the ship and everything they could  think of  . We really didnÕt understand what the problem was. By the third evening  All the complaining had stopped. Thats what Hawaii does to people it has a special way of relaxing you  and pumping up you up at the same time .Believe me when everyone left that ship they did with a smile on their face! While we have been back to Hawaii 3 times we have wanted to cruise the islands again and are looking forward to this cruise BIG TIME. Looking forward to meeting you all and enjoying a Mai Tai or 2 with you. Bye the way there are only 10 people in Utah that drink and I think they will all be on this ship. Until Later Steve and Debie

I am Walter and I am 28 and I work at a large health care company here in Nashville Tennessee where I was born and raised. I am single and very close to my mom who will be cruising with me. I fell in love with cruising when I was 12 and my mom and dad took me and my younger brother on a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas. I am also a big music fan especially a fan of Amy Grant who I have met many times. Believe it or not living in Nashville, I am not a big country music fan though. Although, I would love to meet Faith Hill anytime! :) I have a golden retriever named Mandy who gets depressed when she sees me packing.

Mom is Iola and recently retired.(64 years young) She loves to cook and can country line dance--(I have two left feet). Mom also loves the fact that since I am single that I take her on cruises instead of another woman in my life. We both like meeting new people and are really excited about taking this one-the longest cruise yet. 7 nights just never seems long enough anyway.

Drink of choice is frozen thingies or recently I discovered Cosmo's--Wow!

Aloha,

Walter and Iola

Time-out

Hello everyone....

My name is Joanne and I am 45.  My husband Stan is 46. We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary on this cruise.  I am an accountant for a credit union and Stan does professional pest control.  I enjoy quilting and reading.  Stan loves to run 10Ks and marathons.

We became addicted to cruising in 2002 when I booked a short 3 day cruise for StanÕs birthday.  This year we took our 13 year old daughter and 17 year old son on a cruise from Ensenada to Hawaii.  Next we have booked a 3 day cruise for 16 of his family members in October.

Look forward to meeting all of you next year.  Thanks for letting us join in the fun.

   Registered for the party

Hi everyone.

Just booked my wife, and myself onto the Conections onboard party. Quick intro..

Geoff & Joanne Milton from Rotherham, England - Cabin 7157

We are staying at the Sheraton San Diego and Marina on the 3rd & 4th. Think I posted earlier that we are off to Universal Studios in LA on the Saturday, so wont be at the Balboa Park event.

It has been a long, hard year, so we are SO looking forward to the trip!

vharbaugh

We have booked cabin 8098 and 8096.

I thought I would join in and give some information regarding ourselves.  I am Vickie Harbaugh and will be cruising with my husband Tim, Mother Becky and niece Emily.  I am 48. Tim is 52, Becky is 70, and Emily is 16.  We are taking this cruise to celebrate Emily's graduation from high school.  Most likely my father will join as we the sailing date getsa little closer.  For some reason, he doesn't like to plan trips to far off in the future.

I am the Executive Director for a medium sized non-profit in Salem, OR and my husband works for Senecca Foods in Salem.  Mom is retired and Emily is currently a junior in high school, but will be a senior by the time we cruise.

This will be our first time on the Infinity, but we have sailed on Millennium 3 times and once on the Summit, so we are familiar with the ships lay out.  These ships are our favorites, though we would hesitate to cruise on any ship if the price was right,  :)

We currently are also booked to go on the Maasdam in Dec.  We will be traveling with Emily's family and by brother in-laws family also. We enjoy traveling with friends and family.

This will be our second cruise to Hawaii.  We sailed from Ensenada to Honolulu on the Summit in May 2002 and had a great time.  We are looking forward to this cruise to avoid the long plane flights and the luxury of 4 days at sea on our way home.  This past spring we sailed the trans atlantic trip on the Millennium and thoroughly enjoyed all the sea days.

ALOHA! WeÕre Dave and Louise from Vancouver, BC.  I was born in Ottawa and Louise in Montreal but we both grew up in Vancouver, where we eventually met and married. I have 2 kids and Louise has 3 Š now all grown up!  I was a pilot in the RCAF and also flew for Canadian Airlines until retirement a few years ago. Louise still works as a Dental Assistant.  The past 5 years we have traveled extensively around Western Europe on bus tours, driven over 35,000 miles around Canada and the US, and taken 16 cruises Š so far!  Cruising RULES!

My interests are travel, bluegrass and computers. Louise is interested in grandkids, diamonds, work and working out.  Back on the Summit cruise in May she won the lucky diamond in Ketchikan which she traded in for diamond earrings. We had a great time being Summiteers, and are now looking forward to meeting you all and becoming Infinatics, or is it Infinmaniacs?
