The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

Last night Whitney and Stitches came over with The Diving Bell and the Butterfly to watch in my home theatre. Incredible film. My friends have been recommending that I see it since it came out but I never gotten around to it. Well, now that i've seen it I too am recommending it to all my friends. Great story, that happens to be a true story. Wonderfully directed. Very unique feel to the whole thing. Plus one of my favorite actors has an incredible cameo in it, Max Von Sydow. Even though he's only in 2 scenes they're both very powerful and moving. This is the first time the 3 of us had seen it and we were all impressed with it. I can't recommend this film any more, check out the trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/thedivingbellandthebutterfly/trailer/

 So hot!

It's so incredibly hot out. Picked a good weekend for Artscape. The festival was a lot of fun even though I was soaked in sweat for most of it. On the other hand it's great living 2 blocks away. I could go home to the air conditioning at any time. Which is what I did. I had a 2 hour outdoor time limit. Ok, maybe 3. It was a good festival. Seemed bigger than last year's. Saw a lot of great performances, met up with my friends. It was a good time.

Now I head back to Jersey for 2 weeks and i'll be back to Baltimore around August 6th or 7th and at that time I will look for a job here. Keep me in mind if anyone sees any job openings. I'll do pretty much anything, as long as the bills are paid. See you in NJ!

 Translate Server Error

I lifted this from BoingBoing :

Translate server error

I'm not sure what Chinese string this restaurateur fed to the translation software used to to generate the giant sign hanging over the entrance, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't: TRANSLATE SERVER ERROR. Ah, the special problems of translations into other alphabets.Link (Thanks, Mark!)

Update: In the comments, Insect Hooves adds, "OM NOM NOM. I love their Segfault Chicken. And their Short Stack Overflow is to die for. Ooooh, and their 404 Not Pound Cake (foghorn)"

Logitech wireless racing wheel for the PS3

 http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/playstation_3/devices/4172&cl=us,en

I've been waiting for a wireless wheel for the PS3. Now if only the PS3 itself would come down in price. Then I can sit comfortably on the couch and race in NASCAR 09 and it will feel as if I'm really there. Minus the g-force and the possibility of dying.

Ryan Newman racing for Tony Stewart?

http://www.nascar.com/2008/news/headlines/cup/07/12/rnewman.tstewart.future.plans/index.html

According to Ryan Newman, he is one of the top prospects to drive for Tony Stewart's new racing team next year. I'm actually pretty excited about that. Sure i'd have to get a new hat, stickers, etc., but that's ok. I think it might be good a good move. Maybe not at first but later in the year.

 Update

What have I been up to since I came to New Jersey? Here's the list:

working at DeLorenzo's, parties, friends, Jo Jo's Tavern, The Happening (yes, it SUCKS), Windmill Hot Dogs, teaching basic drawing, watching the Yankees, importing CD's into iTunes, watching DVDs, making DVDs of my stuff, updating computer stuff (both the MacBook Pro and the old PowerMac) and of course eating (a lot!).

That pretty much sums up what i've been up to. I head back to Baltimore for Artscape and hope to find a job while I'm down there. While I'm here I'm working and trying to save up.

 New Jersey

I plan on being in New Jersey up to July 16th and then I'll be coming back for the Artscape festival, which starts 2 blocks from my place in Baltimore. During that time I will be job searching so I can stay in Baltimore. I'm looking to do whatever it takes so I can stay here. I'll even do the 2 jobs thing.

I don't have internet access while I'm in Jersey so updates will be sparse. I'll see you in Jersey.

 Artwork section redesigned

I've had a pretty busy day so far. If you look at the Artwork section you can see that I redesigned all of the pages. The video section has been completely redesigned and now includes the videos embedded into the actual page. Much more convenient for the viewer. Also the other visual arts pages have all been updated and now incorporate a new image viewer that allows the viewer to look at my work without opening a new window. Also a billion times more convenient for the viewer.

Also, I think there may be problems with the RSS feed link. Can someone please test it out by using either the RSS button at the bottom of the main page or the RSS link on the right side of the blog. Please leave a comment to let me know if it works (opens in your reader properly). Thanks!
