ARTIST’S COMMENTS: The Tiffany technique uses thin copper foil and
solder to join the glass pieces as opposed to lead channel. My
preference for using this technique is that it allows for more
intricate detailing. A love of nature and flowers is often reflected in
my work, particularly in the mirrors, which are often embellished with
three- dimensional flowers. The 3-D effect evolved out of boredom with
working on a flat surface and the desire for a creative adventure. The
more traditional designs lend themselves to the idea of antique stained
glass but I try to bring a more contemporary feel to the jewelry boxes
by using beadwork and decorative soldering techniciues. My designs are
all original and creating a new piece from the idea, to the drawing of
the pattern, to executing the finished piece is still a satisfying
experience.
I moved to this area 5 years ago after living in northern New Jersey
for 36 years. I
have exhibited my work in numerous gift shops as well as juried craft
shows though out
the New Jersey and New York areas. I was also a long time member of 2
craft co-ops in New Jersey
