Artist's Comments: My love of art
has been within me from a very young age and has been important to me
throughout my life. In 2004, with the loving support of my husband,
Gary and our "Greater Swiss Mountain Dog - Coalbin", to pursue my
full-time art studio that would enable me to work on many special
projects relating to the "Dog" world and my art. I have schooled and
worked in the visual arts field for the past twenty years. Working long
hours for other companies with many rewarding projects that I was glad
to be a part of, but never having the feeling of fulfillment. Also
spending way to many valuable hours a day on the overly crowded
Maryland and Washington DC beltways became way too much for me. I
wanted my life back. To have time to get back to the basics. My love
of; Pastels, Pen & Ink, and other mediums. For the love of
"Coalbin" I had started doing renderings of him on wooden boxes for his
dog show ribbons and catalogs. Up until this time all my artwork was
done on canvas and special art papers. The results on the wood were
very unique and I had choose to share this special process with
everyone who would also love to have something very special with their
"Faithful Companion" on the front and their information on the spine. I
have designed a custom sized "Wooden Book Keepsake Box" they are made
of Birch & Pine. Currently most of my new paintings that are framed
are done on Pastelbord.
