My Book of Thoughts
This book is part of my Emergency Kit For The Mind. It contains messages to myself that I can read when I am feeling down. The contents of this book are not new, or secret. Sometimes when I am sad, I need to be reminded of the simple things I can do to feel better.
This is a work in progress. I will continue to add to it as I prepare for a potential Peace Corps assignment.
What do you mean "book" - This is a web page?
I am going to record the words and images described on this web page in a ragged looking, brownish colored book that has pages made from thick, beige paper.
The messages I write will be short and thought filled -- sometimes they will be special messages that have little effect on others, but a big effect on me.
The messages be penned in broad, confident, pure strokes.

Magic Jewels
Compassionate thoughts are like beautiful jewels made of bright magic. Their magic is strong and over time can heal great pain.

Meditate
Meditate More.
I will write the words "Meditate More" in the center of the page and then draw a bunch of vines around them. The vines are like the threads of my thought that meditation helps me understand.

Smile
Smile More.
I will write the words "Smile More" at the bottom of the page. In the center of the page I will draw a smiling face. When I smile at others, they often smile back at me and then I feel warm deep down inside.

Adventure
Go on an adventure right now! I mean it, set this book down and go to a new place.
I will draw big 3-d arrows pointing in all directions on the opposite page from this message.

A Challenge
Remember: You wanted the challenge of living in a completely different place with a completely different culture -- You worked very hard to come here. You will persevere.

My Path
I am going to write this message in my thought book. On the opposite page I will draw a simple path leading into the page.

To Teach
I am going to write this message in my thought book. On the opposite page I will draw a weird shape that has no particular meaning.

Magic Mirror
Because I don't know where to buy a magic mirror, I have had to invent my own. Whenever I catch myself thinking:
Why don't they understand me?
I will think of a mirror, and reflect this question into:
Why don't I understand them?
