Academic Olympics is an in-school
competition between homerooms. The question format is patterned after the GATA
(Georgia Academic Team Association) guidelines. 15 questions are presented on a
daily basis in the following categories, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies,
Mathematics, and Fine Arts, one area per day. Homerooms have until 4 PM to
research, confer and develop answers to as many questions as possible before
turning in responses. The homeroom that answers the most questions correctly
over the 5-day period at each grade level is declared the winner and is
presented with a plaque to put over their
door.
