Spicebush (Lindera benzoin) Flowers TAS 08-04-21
Spicebush is an abundant shrub in wooded areas of the swamp. It is the host plant for caterpillars of the spicebush swallowtail butterfly. The small flowers are only visible for a few days in early spring. It is named for the aromatic odor of the leaves.
