We're joining the boycott of Starbucks until they stop sponsoring rodeos, like the Cheyenne Frontier Days. If you don't think that rodeos are cruel, you should look at Shark's website: http://www.BuckStarbucks.com


What You Can Do:

1. Call, write, and email and let Starbucks know your opinion on this appalling form of entertainment, and ask them to halt all involvement with any future rodeo events. As one supporter told Starbucks, "I hate rodeos and animal cruelty more than I like soy lattes."

2. Unfortunately for them in this case, Starbucks are everywhere! We don’t have to trek all the way to their headquarters—they bring their businesses to us. Some dedicated and creative advocates have copied or downloaded the photos of animal abuse at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo, and have taken these images into their local Starbucks to politely educate the management. This is something everyone can do and Starbucks can’t hide from it!

Download a "Buck Starbucks" flyer, complete with photos and information. This is perfect for handing out to passersby at your local Starbucks and to politely educate the management.

3. Forward SHARK’s photos and video clips to compassionate friends and ask them to get involved in stopping these atrocities.

The USDA classifies these creatures as "non-animals" along with chickens and excludes them from the Humane Slaughter Act. Although USDA inspectors have witnessed extremely cruel and horrific acts of violence and torture against them, nothing can be done to enforce stopping the brutality.

Ok, so this is the BEST vegan cheese alternative ever! I just had to say that. This tastes so good and it really does melt. Really.

This cheese was very moist and it grated very nicely. It took some coaxing to melt but it did melt. The best thing though is that it tastes incredible. Better than any other cheese alternative we've tried. I'm sold!

Yesterday, we went to the mall to replace some zodiac necklaces that got lost. While there, we stopped in Hot Topic to browse. I found a pretty interesting vegan cookbook. It's called "Please Feed Me - a punk vegan cookbook" by Niall MCGuirk. I've been a long-time fan of punk and this cookbook is interesting. There are quite a few simple, yet substantial, meals that you can throw together that sound very, very good. "Creamy Coconut Curry with Zucchini and Potatoes" sounds very delicious. I'm going to try it tonight. Of course, keeping with the punk spirit, some of the recipes are completely bogus - like "Bread Sandwhich" - but there are so many gems in here that the book is well worth it. There is also some band info and a mini tour journal. Of course, Fugazi is in here as well our favorite punk band of all time, NoMeansNo!!
