Then select recommended Spanish books. Put in the title and a wealth of information will come up. Here's a list of good books for your Spanish 1 & Spanish II classroom libraries for free voluntary reading (FVR). I highly recommend all of these as they are tried and true favorites in my classes. The books with asterisks are ESSENTIALS that EVERY Spanish teacher should have in the classroom library! In my classroom the books are labeled and shelved according to level. I use a color-coding system (dots) to indicate the level of the book. I have used these groupings to list the titles here. FAVORITE TITLES IN SPANISH - My Spanish I students start reading yellow and quickly progress to red and many into blue. My Spanish II students usually start with red and then progress through blue and into green throughout the year. All of my students read anywhere from 2-4 readers (Blaine Ray's novels) throughout the year as well. It is my goal for all students to eventually move into chapter books.
