Wow. Dial-up connections really stink.

It took forever just for the Apple iTunes store to load. Trying to download some of the latest updates during my holidays is a nightmare: 16MB is a deal breaker. Living without broadband is definitely making me re-think the internet.

I was playing with various handhelds this morning: the Treo, Palm's Tungsten C and Sony's UX something or other. The Sony just absolutely rocks. Unfortunately it doesn't sync natively with Mac OS X- and I'm not sure if Missing Sync will solve the problem. I'm definitely *not* interested in a Treo- the thumb board is just tiny. There's no way that would work for me. I liked the Palm thumb board quite a bit and the Sony was just übercool.

Jeez. It's great to be back stateside and checking technology that will be in Spain next December.
