What kind of films, games and novels really scare people? Why? How exactly do they do it? In this interview, we hear from an expert in the craft of terror.
Matt Costello's innovative work includes ground-breaking and award-winning novels, games, and television. Costello wrote the critically acclaimed game The 7th Guest, which helped launch the CD-ROM era. Since then, Costello has scripted dozens of best-selling games including the recently released Doom 3 of which Time Magazine said, "To play Doom 3 is to feel your skin prickle with atavistic fear." Current games include Pirates of the Carribean 3 for Disney, Shellshock 2 for Eidos, and a new top-secret IP for ID Software. His novel Beneath Still Waters has been filmed for Lions Gate and Filmax for world-wide release in 2006. His current novel, Out of Time, has been optioned.

Note for PSP users: after downloading the special .mp4 PSP version above, change the video's file name to the Sony PSP naming convention that is compatible with other file names you may already have on your PSP to avoid conflicts and ensure that the video shows up in the PSP video directory. |
