| Film and animation co-productions are an increasingly frequent model for finance and distribution. Mike Robinson is an expert. | | Date Created: Jun 23, 2005, 04:47 PM |
Mike Robinson has moved from an early career in theatre, into the area of animation, and is today one of the world's leading authorities on animation and forging co-productions. In this interview, he talks about his extensive experience gaining finance for global co-productions. Mike advises on the mechanics of co-production: how to choose good partners, and how to create good, and paid for, content.
Mike says there are many countries that have aspiring talent, but low levels of subsidy. When the average 26 ten minute CGI series costs on average between 1.3 and 1.8 million pounds, a great deal of money must be raised, especially when your home territory can only raise 10% of it. Mike's expertise helps companies wanting to plunge into such areas to raise the money and disburse it for maximum value.
