AFTRS Course
Received a phone call from Michelle at the AFTRS (Australian Film Television Radio School) in Sydney confirming my acceptance in their week-long "Introduction to Documentary" course beginning next week. AFTRS is probably the premier film school in Oz so I'm very glad to be accepted. While I'm quite confident in the podcasting side of things, shooting good documentary-style video on a solo basis is the key area I need to skill up in. There's some very raw video podcasts and I don't want to join them Happy
The course format revolves around a screening each day and then discussion with the folks involved - Michelle mentioned one of my favourite documentaries so I'm excited about that. Plus, there should be the opportunity to get some solid advice from some folks with a lot of behind camera experience...
Website revamp
Despite not having podcasted recently, I am alive! Thankyou for the emails from concerned listeners, it's very kind of you to think about my welfare.
Episode 19 was the last episode for 2005. Due to a large number of constraints coming together, both time and money, as well as returning to Australia, it simply hasn't been possible for me to continue.
That said, I am preparing to return to Japan in 2006 and acquire material for some more episodes. I have chosen the theme for the 2006 episodes, am presently researching it and hope to get some good content once 'on the ground'.
As is evident, I've totally revamped the website and I'll be adding thoughts/experiences here as podcast-relevant things occur.
