Mason County Optimist received an award from the Washington State Employment Security Department  for their donation of personal hygiene totes over the last year.  Each tote is given to a person in need who is training for employment or looking for employment.  The Commissioner from the Employment Security Department above gave the award to then President, Grace Young.  The Commissioner stated that she was familiar with Optimist, many years ago she was the first woman to become a local President of a club.
