Mermaid House designs and builds custom ponds to fit any landscape. We take each pond project as personally as our customer does. You won't find any "cookie cutter" ponds with the Mermaid House name on them!
  • We study proposed pond sites in detail to gain a mental image of how it will look with a pond:
    • What are the site's incline and slope and is there drainage into the area that needs to be diverted?
    • What existing plantings are in the area?
    • What is the soil type and consistency and how rocky is the area?
  • We interview future pond owners to find out what they imagine when they view the site. Do they:
    • See a formal or casual, free-form pond?
    • Want a pond with a specific focus or theme?
  • We spend the time and focus it takes to create a unique and beautiful water-filled work of art
    • We hand-sculpt every waterfall. Janet can sculpt a plain dirt hill into an eye-popping finished piece of art
    • We fit each rock tightly into place to ensure a secure and safe pond

We use both our understanding of the physical environment and the wishes and imagination of our customer to create a pond that looks natural, is easy to maintain, and fits into our customer's lifestyle and personality.
