Buellton
Developer’s Plan:
Turn our backs on Buellton and build a new
town because “Buellton has little land for growth, an
obscure town center, and limited dining and shopping
opportunities. Walking is difficult, there are too few
employment possibilities, and options for sustainability
are limited.” This quote comes from a report
prepared for land-owner and developer Norman Williams and
submitted to the City of Buellton. Download the plan

Buellton City
Council’s Plan, temporarily defeated 3-2.
If passed it would have abandoned the Council-adopted
General Plan (which said that Buellton would not need to
expand until after 2025), and increased Buellton’s size,
population, and traffic six-fold. Note
that Council’s zone N1 in the NW sector of the SOI is
nearly identical to the area of the Williams
plan.
