A Typical Day of Sturgeon Fishing on the Columbia River with Betty
I thought you might like to see what a typical day of sturgeon fishing is like. First, you gotta have a boat, then you anchor up in a likely looking spot, like below McNary dam, then the first thing you know, you have a bent rod. Here is Betty working on getting a bruise on her belly button.

This is a typical fish, running between 3 and 4 feet long.

After baiting up, pretty soon, happiness strikes again . . .

And again . . .

Not all of the fish are monstors. Some of them are babies.

Ugly little critters, aren't they?

And so it goes . . .

Every now and then you get a good one.

This fish ran about 5 feet. We have caught them up to 7 ft. Of course, the 8 or 9 footer got away.

And so it goes. If you fish with Betty, you get to take a lot of pictures, but you can seldom catch anything, because it seems like she always has a fish on! As I recall, we caught 7 of them on this day.
