Frederick Louis Hanover, Prince of Wales was the son of George Augustus Hanover, King of Great Britain and Wilhelmine Charlotte Karoline Prinzessin von Brandenburg-Ansbach. He was born on 20 January 1707 at Hannover, Niedersachsen, Germany. He married Auguste Prinzessin von Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg, daughter of Friedrich II Herzog von Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg and Magdalena Augusta von Anhalt-Zerbst, on 27 April 1736 at St. James's Palace, Chapel Royal, St. James's, London, England. He died on 20 March 1751 at age 44 at Leicester House, St. Martin's-in-the-Fields, London, England. He was buried at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, England.
He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) on 3 July 1716. He was created Duke of Gloucester on 10 January 1717. He succeeded to the title of Duke of Rothesay on 11 June 1727. He succeeded to the title of Duke of Cornwall on 11 June 1727. He was created Viscount of Lanceston on 26 July 1727. He gained the title of Baron of Snowdon on 26 July 1727. He was created Earl of Eltham on 26 July 1727. He was created Duke of Edinburgh on 26 July 1727. He gained the title of Marquess of the Isle of Ely on 26 July 1727. He was created HRH Prince Frederick of Wales on 8 January 1729. He was created Earl of Chester on 8 January 1729.2 He and Hon. Anne Vane were associated circa 1731. - [1]
