added Applications and removed

In order to tidy a few things up, I have added a
new category, Applications, this will contain news, views and stuff on software
applications.
As a result I have "lost" some software specific categories (most of which only had one entry).
If I find that I start using and talking about an application a lot more than now, then I will give it, its own category.
