Use Bluetooth for SMS (on a Windows XP PC)

send text messages from your XP PC...

As you may have read in a previous posting I know from a Mac running OS X you can send text messages from a Mac via a mobile phone using Bluetooth to connect the Mac to the phone.

I was on the train the other day without my PowerBook but with my VAIO SRX41P running Windows XP. I was in the "quiet" carriage and I needed to give my wife a message but wouldn't be able to make a mobile phone call.

I thought to myself I must be able to send an SMS from my VAIO in the same way I can with the Mac, so (using a GPRS connection) searched Google and came up with the following free software, SMS Sender, from the Microsoft website.

It is not as intuitive as the Mac method, but the mechanics and methodology are similar.
