Four port ethernet wireless bridge - WLI-TX4-G54HP
from Buffalo Technology...
I have over the years successfully used and
recommended the Linksys Ethernet Wireless Bridges, the 802.11b WET11 and 802.11g
WET54G, as a useful device in connecting non-wireless ethernet devices to a
wireless network.I use two WET54Gs, one
for an Elgato eyeHome and another for a network
scanner.
Today
I was put onto the Buffalo Technology WLI-TX4-G54HP. This is again an ethernet
wireless bridge, but comes with an integrated four port switch, allowing you to
connect four devices to it.A switch has
the advantage that your devices can talk to each other (ie share files) without
needing to go via the router. This means that with a Buffalo Technology
WLI-TX4-G54HP the four devices will talk together at wired speeds rather than
wireless speeds. The Buffalo Turbo G High
Power Wireless Ethernet Converter is an extremely versatile wireless client
adapter. Use it to wirelessly connect gaming consoles, desktops, laptops, media
players, printers, Unix workstations, and any other devices with Ethernet ports.
With a built-in four port switch, up to 4 devices can be simultaneously
connected to the Ethernet Converter for instant wireless connectivity. The
Ethernet Converter supports AOSS™, allowing you to configure a secure
wireless connection with the push of a button, and offers the advanced security
for WPA (TKIP, AES). Once the simple browser-based setup or AOSS™ is
complete, the Ethernet Converter can be moved from one device to another without
reconfiguration.Features:
