I can't connect my Cable modem to my Airport base station???
you need to blank the cable
modem...
If you have an Airport base station (an Extreme or
an Express) and are connecting to a previously working cable modem you may find
that you can't get a connection.
This is
usually because the cable modem has associated itself with the MAC address of
the computer and needs to be "blanked" so that it can then associate itself with
the new MAC address of the Airport base
station.
Use the following
process:
• Power down the cable modem.
• Wait 30 minutes (go and have a cup of tea
or something). Sometimes this may have to be longer, even
overnight.
• Connect the cable modem to the ethernet
port of the Airport base station.
• Switch on the cable modem.
• Switch on the Airport base
station.
• Wait five minutes.
• Switch on the Mac.
• Use the Airport Setup Assistant in the
Utilities folder to configure the Airport base
station.
This process should also work
with other routers and wireless routers.
