Virgin Trains, 3G, GPRS and the Vodafone network...
at least I have a power
socket...
When I travel to London (from the Bristol area) I
usually have very good GPRS coverage and okay 3G coverage from
Reading.
Travelling to Birmingham today
the 3G coverage has been pretty poor (got good coverage at Gloucester station)
and GPRS just as bad... making internet on the move nigh
impossible.
Now the whole network seems
to be down...
At least there are power
sockets on Virgin Voyager trains (unlike First Great Western), though why are
laptop computers "banned" from the Quiet Zone coach; mobile phones and personal
stereos I can understand, but laptops.... my PowerBook is very quiet when it
wants to be!
