Video formats on my Nokia N73

MPEG4 is so much better quality than the 3GP I have been using...

I have in the past converted video files into a 3GP format for playing on my mobile phone of the time, an S700i. They looked okay, but nothing to shout home about.

My new Nokia N73 has video playback, and when I tried some of the 3GP files I had and had created I was disappointed with the quality which was very poor compared to other video devices I had used in the past such as the Archos PVRs, the PSP and the video iPod.

I did some checking as I was sure that the Nokia N73 could handle better quality video, so I tried a MPEG4 file at a 320x240 screen resolution and was suitably impressed.

I used Media Convert , an online video conversion tool to convert two Apple Getamac Quicktime adverts into a 3GP file and a MPEG4 file. I was impressed at the speed of the online conversion and the end results.

So if you are converting video files for use on an Nokia N73, ensure that you use the MPEG 4 format with a 320x240 resolution.
