Potential solution with Tiger and Vodafone 3G Datacard

Vodafone 3G DatacardIt would appear that there is a solution if you are suffering an incompatibility issue with your Vodafone 3G Datacard and a Mac running Tiger 10.4.1

If you disable Airport, reboot, and try again, this seems to resolve the issue.

I think this is an issue with new PowerBooks running 10.4.1 and not with PowerBooks which upgraded to 10.4

When I installed the software and configured the 3G Datacard on my PowerBook (running 10.3) it would create a new location in Network in System Preferences which did not include Airport. So I suspect that this incompatibility may have always been there.

I do notice when using the card on a Windows laptop that it disables the wireless connection unless it is a supported connection ie a wifi hotspot, but I doubt the issues are related.
