VPN via GPRS on 3G Datacard

I have tried to connect to my VPN using a GPRS
mobile phone connection, but I have never tried it before with my 3G datacard
(as I got it before I had configured the VPN and got the connection deal without
VPN).
I tried today and was surprised to find it worked. I wasn't connected in a 3G area and was on GPRS, so it was very very slow, but I was able to use RDC to connect to my office XP machine and check my calendar on Outlook.
