Are we going to see an Apple PDA?

something beyond the rumoured iPhone (iPod phone) device which is currently circulating the rumour sites...

Anyone who likes the odd Apple rumour or six will know that the Apple phone, the iPhone, the iPod phone, etc... is currently creating a huge buzz on the net.

One thing which recently surfaced on the Appleinsider web site was the use of OS X in embedded devices, and that the rumoured iPhone would be the first device that runs this embedded OS X.

Of course as Apple develops an embedded OS X, certain devices like the announced iTV back in September would probably also run it as could other consumer like devices.

One of the key advantages will be integration with Macs running OS X.

I wonder though if we will see an Apple PDA running an embedded version of OS X. Obviously Microsoft have already been down this route with their own embedded version of Windows WinCE which was the core of Windows Mobile 5.0 which you find on PocketPC devices.

I actually see this device as a larger screened iPod, more for entertainment than a personal organiser type device. There have been a few rumours linked into this such as the non-touch interface patents which have been noted before.

I personally would love to see a tablet style iPod device which synchronizes with my Mac wirelessly.
