Upgraded the memory to 512Mb
even though I had been happy with 256Mb,
however Virtual PC was taking its toll...
Some people say you can never have enough memory,
well I had been happy with 256Mb since I got the G4 PowerBook, and then I bought
Virtual PC for my new G5 (which at the time of writing still hasn't arrived).
Then I read all the "issues" about Virtual PC and how it wouldn't run on a G5,
so I thought well, might as well install it on the G4 and did it run slow, it
ran really really really slowly. So that
meant I needed more memory. I was quite surprised to find that 256Mb of
additional RAM was only going to cost less than £30 and it doesn't seem
that long ago that memory was priced at around £30 per Mb... Following the
instructions from the PDF
from the Apple site, it was a doddle to install and now I have 512Mb
of RAM and Virtual PC runs a little bit faster than it did before!
