No more...
handed over to a
colleague...
Well I now no longer have my 550MHz G4 PowerBook
having handed it over to my colleague. Of course I do have the replacement, a
new 1.5GHz G4 PowerBook which is very
nice.
The older Titanium model served
itself well over the last three years and certainly worked it's little socks
off. It was taken all across the country, from Devon to Scotland and quite a few
times to London. The 20GB hard drive was full to bursting point and the number
of applications I had was quite overwhelming at times (and unlike a lot of
Windows machines in the three years I had it I never needed to format and
re-install the OS.
In handing it over I
wanted to give my colleague a blank canvas but not needing to re-install every
application. I actually found this quite difficult to
do.
In the end I erased the hard drive,
installed Jaguar 10.2 and then upgraded to Panther 10.3, I then installed all
the relevant updates (except a few I had had problems
with).
It was quite sad really to hand
the little machine over, it was my first Mac and certainly converted me to the
Apple Mac
OS.
