Felix Gaming Blog has MOVED

The Felix Gaming Blog has moved to a new location and a new look.

Due to onoging issues with my reset of iBlog, I have been unable to publish new material to the Felix Gaming Blog. After trying to let iBlog publish for a week, I knew it was going to be impossible to continue using iBlog without a major overhaul, and if I am going to do that I said to myself I might as well change my blogging software to something which is more flexible.

I have changed to using Wordpress, so please check out the new blog; I will be leaving this blog up as an archive.

Ultramarines Dreadnoughts

on display in Warhammer World...

Some very nice Ultramarines Dreadnoughts on display at Warhammer World.

To the right of this pic (cropped as it was blurred, but you can see the shoulder) was the GW Venerable Dreadnought, which compared to the really nice Forgeworld models is horrible. It even looks like extra metal parts added to the standard Dreadnought.

So if you are in the market for a Venerable Dreadnought, spend the extra money and get yourself a really nice resin version from Forgeworld.

Reaver Titan

a work in progress...

One of the highlights of the Forgeworld Designers' stand at GamesDay 2007 for me this year was the work in progress model of a 40K scale Reaver Titan.

This is one big model, and though it is a work in progress, the detail in the model looks great.

I am guessing this is going to be way out of my price league, but one can dream.

GamesDay 2007 Limited Edition

well it is an orc...

I have always felt that if I pay £25 for a ticket into GamesDay I should get at least one miniature free.

Back in the good old days I do remember getting a goody bag, one which sticks in my mind contained a free Kroot sprue.

Now I know I could queue for (what seems like an age) and try one of the modelling stands and get some free plastic miniatures, but this year the queues were horrendous, last year I made a tree stand.

Every year (for a fair few years now) Games Workshop have released a limited edition Games Day miniature which is an additional cost to the price of the ticket.

By the way does it count as a limited edition if you can buy last years limited edition at this year's show at a discount!

This year's limited edition was an orc and a goblin, and yes I did buy it.

I am intending to use it with my feral orks, looks like a nice model.

Death Korps of Krieg Gorgon during the Siege of Vraks.

The Imperial Guard use the Gorgon for heavy assaults. It is designed for breaching fortified lines and entrenchments, literally smashing its way through opposing defences to unleash its cargo of troops into the heart of the enemy position.

Grot with Toolbox

nice little model, not available much longer...

As well as the Ork Stormboyz Nob and Grot Oiler which I got at Warhammer World last month, I also got a Grot with Toolbox which is from the collectors range.

As you may now already GW are changing their mail order procedures and ranges which means that these older collectors' models may no longer be available in the future.

Get them now while you can, this is one of my favourite models from that range.

Grot Oiler
