This is the fantastic Epic (okay Aeronautica) Airfield which was on display on the Forgeworld stand at GamesDay 2007.

Really nicely done, I like the snow effect.

Imperial Guard Chimera

on the move through the ruins of an Imperial city...

A lone Imperial Guard Chimera, starts to move along the street, amongst the ruins of an Imperial city. Infantry support seems to be lacking, which is essential when danger is around every corner.

As mentioned before, I do like these Epic miniatures and though they were fiddly to put together (these are the Epic40K era miniatures) compared to the current Epic Armageddon miniatures.

I do like these Epic miniatures and though they were fiddly to put together (these are the Epic40K era miniatures) compared to the current Epic Armageddon miniatures I like the flexibility that the multi-part miniatures allowed.

Epic Imperial Manticore

An Imperial Manticore prepares to fire a salvo of its deadly rockets on enemy positions in the heart of a ruined Imperial city.

This Epic model is one of the more difficult models to put together with four separate rockets which really don't want to stay on their firing rails.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, I now when giving my models a wash, add paint to the ink which removes the gloss you can see in the photograph.

Epic Ork Trukk

in the ruins of an Imperial city...

Epic Ork Trukk in the ruins of an Imperial city.

This is a conversion, it used an Ork Flakwagon and the Ork Buggy Gunnerz from two buggies. It had a white undercoat, I then painted the metal parts black, drybrushed with Tin Bitz and Boltgun Metal. The red parts were painted red, I then gave it a wash of Chestnut Ink.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, I now when giving my models a wash, add paint to the ink which removes the gloss you can see in this photograph. You can see that effect on these models.

The wash has given them a matt look which looks more "realistic" than the gloss finish of the Trukk above.

Ork Battlefortress

moving through the ruins of an Imperial city...

An Epic Ork Battlefortress moves through the ruins of an Imperial city supported by other Ork vehicles.

This has been converted. The front turrets were replaced with flak gunz from Ork Flakwagonz. A Pulsa Rokkit was added on the left, whilst Ork Buggy Gunnerz were added on the right. It was undercoated black, drybrushed with Tin Bitz and Boltgun Metal with some parts picked out in red.
